Fridge Not Cooling in Multan: What to Check Before You Call
A fridge rarely gives up without warning. First the milk turns a day early, then the freezer frosts over, and one evening the shelves are simply warm. If you are dealing with a fridge not cooling in Multan, the heat outside usually gets the blame, but the real cause can often be narrowed down in about ten minutes.
Rule Out the Simple Things First
- Confirm the fridge is getting power. Plug a phone charger or lamp into the same socket and see if it works.
- Check the temperature dial. It gets nudged to a low setting more often than people expect, especially when someone cleans around it.
- Close the door and look at the gasket. If a strip of paper slides out easily when pinched in the door, the seal is tired.
- Look at how the shelves are packed. Food pushed against the back vents blocks the cold air from moving around.
- Check the gap behind and beside the fridge. It needs breathing room so the heat from the back can escape.
What the Warm Spot Is Telling You
- Freezer cold, fridge section warm: usually an airflow problem, such as a stuck damper, a weak fan or a frozen vent.
- Both sections warm and nothing humming: the compressor may not be getting its start signal. A start relay, thermostat or control board is the usual suspect.
- Both warm while the motor runs constantly: this points toward low refrigerant, a blocked condenser, or a compressor that is losing efficiency.
- Thick frost on the back wall: the defrost system, meaning a heater, timer or sensor, may have stopped working.
Why a Multan Summer Makes It Harder
A fridge sitting in a hot kitchen next to the stove, or in direct sun, works much harder just to hold its temperature. Add a door that opens fifty times a day and mains voltage that sags or swings in the afternoon, and the compressor has a difficult time starting and running. A fridge that coped in winter can show its weakness in June. Dusty condenser coils make it worse, because dust acts like a blanket and the heat cannot leave.
What Not to Do
- Do not unplug and replug it again and again. After a power cut, give the compressor about five minutes before it restarts so the pressure can settle.
- Do not chip ice with a knife or screwdriver. A slip can puncture a cooling line and turn a small repair into a big one.
- Do not remove back panels or touch the copper pipes. Gas and electrical parts are for a technician.
- Do not have gas added on a guess. If gas is low there is a leak, and topping up without finding it only delays the next failure.
When It Is Time to Call Someone
- The fridge stays warm after you have ruled out the simple causes.
- The compressor clicks, hums and stops, or never starts.
- You hear a loud rattle, buzz or hiss.
- Water pools inside or underneath, or ice comes back soon after defrosting.
- There is an oily or burning smell. Switch it off at the wall and call us.
